Hello everyone, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great time and a great Christmas too. Right now I’m just sat in my room on this cold Tuesday morning, thinking about what I’m going to do with my day off. I might head into London and do nothing but walk around. The sun (yes that’s right it’s actually sunny) is bursting through my blinds casting some nice light on the walls, so as you can see from the picture I’ve been filling my time playing with shadows… I am and have been for the last week or so listening to a French artist called Yael Naim, you may have heard her, one of her tracks was on the MacBook Air advert. She’s really amazing, most of the album is in French so I’m enjoying the melodies not the lyrics on most songs, but what is in English is amazing poetry, a very talented writer it would appear. I can’t imagine expressing my emotions and feelings in anything but my first language, amazing (www.myspace.com/yaelnaim).
Writing has been slow for me over the Christmas period, I’ve had a lot on my mind and a lot of things have happened in the last 2 months kind of turning my life upside-down, not all negative though, a lot of positive things are starting to happen. I don’t know how other writers work, but I find when I have too much to write about my head gets overcrowded and I can’t think straight. So I try to block all but one thought out of my mind, it’s a tough thing to do. Because of all these thoughts it makes it difficult to sleep too, so I’m tired all the time!
I’m feeling very good about 2009, I feel like the whole of 2008 was spent laying the foundations of what I’m trying to achieve with my music. The Living Series and The Not My Living Room Series went better than I could have possibly imagined, I’ve made my first music video, which was also featured on YouTube, and I’ve recorded my debut album. I’ve had meetings with numerous labels including some majors and all this has happened organically because of you people and the power of word of mouth. I haven’t been knocking on the doors of these labels, they’ve been coming to me. What makes me happy is I’m writing honest music that is true to me, I’m not selling out and I’m not trying to be commercial. I’m just writing what I feel. Now it’s time for me to turn this into overdrive and really go for it. No more 9-5 for me, I’m done.
I want to thank everyone reading this, without you all none of this would be happening. I’ll post again soon. Greg x

Greg my friend… “Now it’s time for me to turn this into overdrive and really go for it. No more 9-5 for me, I’m done….” Go for it lad! Can I offer you the last verse, (just after the guitar solo) of lyrics from Counting Crows ‘Baby, I’m A Big Star Now’… in the song he chases the dream of i guess ‘the circle where the spotlight shines’ but mate the verse is yours!
